At the beginning of the third millennium the idea of “morals” seems to belong to former times, having almost no significance for the man of today. It seems to be a word threatened with extinction and rarely found in our daily conversation. However, the problem is not in the word itself, but in the content which lies behind the letter. To straight things up, we’d better have a look at the dictionary definition of “morals”: “form of the conscience that reflects and sets down into principles, norms and rules the requirements of behavior concerning the relationship between individuals and between individual and other collectivities (family, society, and nation).” Honestly speaking, in today’s world when freedom is technically a virtue, who would want to live a life enclosed by rules and norms, a life guided by principles and conscience? Some would say that by abiding to such things the success avoids one, the opportunities fail to show up, breaking away from one’s life. This way, many people decide to trample their principles, to repress their conscience discovering in the end shorter ways towards their happiness. These “ways” are called: compromise, rubbing along, horning in and others as such. This is more or less the trend that is promoted by the society we live in. And then the normal question rises: Are the morals of any value, any sense or any use to our lives? Are the morals of any good? And if we look at it differently, what would God say about the morals of our times? Would the Divinity be interested in such a topic? Yes, for sure. That is exactly why, within a turbid and confused modernity, Moralia Association sets a goal in rediscovering the value of Christian morals, especially among the young generation, in aspects that have a crucial importance within their lives. Some of these aspects are related to the relationship between sexes, to different crises and dependencies, and the list may go on. For a closer and detailed approach towards the vision and work of Moralia you are invited to watch the video aside and visit our site www.moralia.ro . Thus, we will be waiting for your opinions and ideas on both the morality and immorality of the society we live in, and on the work of Moralia Association and the way you could join it.
